O antes e o agora
Casa Lourán is a traditional Galician house which has adapted to the different realities of our family through
centuries and generations. In 2001 we restored this farmstead of great heritage value in order to open it up to
the world.
Adapting our house to the modern times while preserving the essence of tradition was a challenge that we
have overcome: the wood oven keeps baking bread, water keeps running down the ancient laundry tub, and
people keep living in a hamlet which we want to keep alive.

Located in the mountainous area of Fragas do Eume, the Valley of Xestoso maintains the authenticity of a
territory which sustains a lively primary sector, where land is still the protagonist of the local economy. The
agricultural landscape, numerous creeks, meadows enclosed by forests, and a variety of civil heritage offer
pleasant walks in the surroundings of the house.
The location of the house allows to visit the Fragas do Eume Natural Park, which offers a wide array of
activites, as well as the littoral regions of the Rías of Betanzos and Ares or the stunning coast of Ortegal. The
house is within an hour from four of the main cities in Galicia: A Coruña, Ferrol, Lugo and Compostela.
Es como llegar a una casa encantada a la que accedes a través de una carretera comarcal rodeada de árboles por todos lados. Es estar en mitad de la nada, pero cerca de todo, lo que lo hace un lugar especialmente cómodo para hacer visitas de día.
